Privacy & how email works

Short version: to get the free companion book and the printable toolkit you give us nothing at all. Email is entirely optional, and you can leave any time with one click.

The downloads ask for nothing

The Depression-Era Home & Pantry Companion and the Hard-Times Kitchen Toolkit are plain, direct downloads. You don’t need to enter an email, create an account, or buy anything to get them. They are free gifts to readers of the book — yours to keep.

If you choose to leave your email

The email box on the page is optional. It is there only for readers who would also like these free files sent to them, and the occasional note from Hazel when there is something new. If you leave your address:

We don’t use your email to guess anything about you, and we don’t need any other personal details.

Cookies & tracking

This page keeps things simple. It sets no advertising cookies and runs no cross-site trackers. If you arrived from the code printed in the book, the link carries a plain label saying so, which we use only to know that the page was found through the book. Your browser may also remember, just for this visit, that you have already seen the reminder pop-up — nothing more.

History, not medical advice

Chapter II of the free companion describes home remedies as they were kept and believed in the 1930s. It is historical description only. Nothing in it diagnoses, treats, cures or prevents anything, and none of it should be used in place of a doctor or pharmacist. The same applies to the period notes on lye soap and old canning practice: they record what was done then, not instructions for now.

A note on AI & the images

Some images and design elements on this page — including the author portrait, the cover artwork and the decorative elements — were created with the help of AI tools. Hazel Calloway is the pen name under which these books are written and published.

The bonuses are unconditional

The companion and the toolkit are free with no strings attached. They are never offered in exchange for a review or any other action. If we ever ask, later and separately, whether you would share an honest review of the book, that is entirely up to you, it is never tied to receiving anything, and an honest review means whatever you actually thought.

Who publishes this

These books and printables are written under the pen name Hazel Calloway and published by Bayside Press, Via Mazzarona 4, 25019 Sirmione (BS), Italia. Questions? Write to [email protected].
